Revenue per visitor

For years where BOTH arrivals and revenue are known, return year and revenue per visitor in US$ (revenue in billions ÷ arrivals in millions × 1000), rounded to whole dollars, aliased as usd_per_visitor. Newest year first.

Runs in your browser. No signup needed.

What you are given

tourism(year, arrivals_millions, revenue_usd_bn). revenue_usd_bn/arrivals_millions gives $000s per visitor; ×1000 → US$. Use ROUND(x, 0).

Starting point

SELECT year,
       ROUND(revenue_usd_bn / arrivals_millions * 1000, 0) AS usd_per_visitor
FROM tourism
WHERE arrivals_millions IS NOT NULL AND revenue_usd_bn IS NOT NULL
ORDER BY year DESC;

The reference solution is checked automatically when you run your query on the practice page — results are compared row by row, and order matters for this one.

Egypt hit a record ~19M visitors in 2025 (SIS / Ministry). Spend-per-visitor is a core tourism-BI metric — higher-value tourism beats sheer headcount.
