The short version
If you never subscribe to our newsletter, EgyBI collects no personal information that identifies you. The practice sandbox, charts and map all run in your browser. We do not sell your data, ever.
What we collect
- Newsletter email — only if you subscribe to The Papyrus. We store your email address and the time you signed up, so we can send you the newsletter. Nothing else. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
- Standard server logs — like almost every website, our host records basic technical requests (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. These are not used to build a profile of you.
- Local storage in your browser — the Practice page remembers which challenges you have solved using your browser’s local storage. This never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
Cookies and advertising
EgyBI may show advertising through Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs. When advertising is active:
- Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google’s policy.
If advertising is not currently enabled on the site, no advertising cookies are set.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- We never ask for sensitive data (passwords to other services, financial details) — the practice sandbox needs none of it.
Children
EgyBI is intended for a general audience learning data skills and about Egypt. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top. Questions, or want your newsletter email removed? Email hello@egybi.com.
